The scents and flavours of the Dalmore 12 year old are complex. Furthermore, it is regarded as a whisky with character that transcends its age. Andrew Mackenzie's pioneering spirit was on display when he doubled the maturation time. His gamble came out well; The Dalmore 12 year old is still regarded as an exceptional whisky today, just as it was back then. This spirit is aged for nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. The spirit then splits into its ultimate flourish. The first half of the whisky is kept in bourbon barrels, while the second half is transferred to unique 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem oloroso sherry butts before being combined to make this amazing whisky.
