Southern Comfort (or SoCo, as it's referred to in Southern Comfort commercials) is a whiskey liqueur that you've certainly seen on back-bars around the world. It was created by bartender Martin Wilkes Heron in New Orleans in 1874, mixing classic whiskey flavours with the sweet freshness of peaches. Southern Comfort has been used in innumerable cocktail and mixed drink recipes since its introduction in the late 1800s; it goes especially well with cola and a big slice of lime.
