The Islay distillery used whisky from a variety of barrels to create the Laphroaig Select, including Oloroso Sherry butts, white American oak, Pedro Ximenez seasoned hoggies, Quarter casks, and first fill bourbon casks.

Nose: Up front, there are classic, medicinal peat aromas, which are backed up by citrusy, chocolatey sweet notes and soft barley. Palate: The peat is present, but it's not overpowering, allowing the bright notes of lemon, green apples, and mint to shine through. As time goes on, darker baking spice flavours emerge. Finish: Medium length, with peat remaining visible till the end. |
